What neither of them initially realise, though, is that Sarah has witnessed their heated exchange. And, the next day, Chloe is caught off guard when Sarah asks her if Mack is the father of her unborn child. Chloe manages to look shocked before manipulating Sarah into backing down.
But, later on, a no-nonsense Chloe urges Mackenzie to stop spiralling, as his actions are arousing suspicion, particularly when it comes to Sarah…
Gabby’s shock outburst
Kim is impressed by Gabby’s pitch about expanding the business into schools. But Gabby’s next job? To deliver on her ideas. Kim’s protégé then tries to muster confidence as she greets Nicola, councillor Colin and assembled guests from local schools. But when she takes a nervous glance at Kim, she finds an unimpressed face staring back at her.
But luckily for Gabby, Nicola delivers good news: she’s sold the idea! And it’s an outcome that also results in Kim offering Gabby the post of deputy. As the cork on a bottle of fizz gets popped, Gabby urges Nicky to celebrate with her. But the atmosphere sours when a drunk Gabby later leans in for a kiss with Nicky, who jumps to his feet and announces that he doesn’t like her like that.
Gabby is therefore left humiliated, especially seeing as Dawn has witnessed the interaction. But the next day, when Gabby and Dawn argue about their priorities, Gabby labels Dawn “a prostitute” in front of Lucas, Clemmie and Will. And as Lucas starts asking questions about the meaning of the word, a horrified Dawn rushes out on the verge of tears. Will she be forced to revisit her past?
Paddy is on his own
Poor Paddy looks set to feel increasingly isolated as the gulf widens between him and those he once considered his nearest and dearest.
What we’ll see is Mandy suggesting that the Dingles throw a party with the out-of-date beer, and Chas uses the bash as the perfect opportunity to make amends with those from whom she’s estranged. Later, as the family gathers in the bar, Chas is taken aback when an awkward Paddy arrives. And as Chas starts to be accepted by her clan once again, Paddy is left feeling excluded.
With Marlon distracted by the buffet, a crestfallen Paddy slips of to the backroom. And as Mandy starts testing the karaoke mic, a despondent Paddy can’t help but feel isolated from his once-extended family as he earwigs on them living life to the full.
Bear, meanwhile, starts to worry that Paddy is withdrawing from Eve, so Vinny offers to talk to him about the situation between father and daughter.
Bernice receives encouragement
Finally, Bernice is left furious when Mandy delivers some bad news: she’s being made redundant from the salon.
Nicola, though, wants to turn a negative into a positive and so encourages Bernice to buy the B&B. But will Bernice go for it?
