Emmerdale spoilers: Vanessa’s exit revealed, plus major relationship break-up

Fan favourite Vanessa leaves the village in heart-breaking scenes on Emmerdale next week, while David and Victoria find their relationship hitting the rocks. Plus Matty has suspicions where jailbird Cain is concerned.

Vanessa’s shock exit

After she and Rhona fall out over the future direction of the veterinary business, Vanessa announces she’s accepting a new job in Canada. The two women then proceed to get drunk together, but tempers fray as the pair each bring up thorny issues that ought to have been left in the past.

The next day, Vanessa has a monster hangover, but heads out to look for Suzy, who’s nowhere to be seen. But when Suzy is found giggling while in the company of Leyla, a furious Vanessa leaps to the conclusion that the two of them are using again.

Realising that she’s suspected of having turned to drugs, Suzy proves her sobriety. But it’s too little too late for her and Vanessa, who realise that their relationship is over. And following a farewell party at the Woolpack, Vanessa’s friends say their emotional goodbyes before she puts the last of her things into a waiting taxi…

David and Victoria to end their relationship?

Victoria is left seething when David tells her about the speeding ticket in her name. And despite him then pleading his case with the police in a bid to clear up the mess, David is left mortified when Victoria starts moving her things out of the house.

As far as she’s concerned, it’s now over between the two of them, but this bombshell doesn’t stop David from trying to win Victoria back.

He also tries to distract himself by coming up with the plan of decking the shop out early with Christmas decorations. But when Leyla and Pollard arrive on the scene, they’re left concerned that David is now putting himself in debt for all the wrong reasons.

Matty suspects Cain

Matty wants to get to the bottom of Cain’s reasoning behind killing Al. And despite Chas attempting to divert his attention, Matty is soon heading to the prison visitors’ room to see the man himself.

But after laying out his case, Matty finds himself on the receiving end of Cain’s scorn. Cain then leaves, thinking that he’s managed to put him off the scent. But it quickly becomes clear that Matty doesn’t believe a word he’s said…

Menopause drama for Bernice

Bernice is finding it hard to control her emotions and will be seen at the salon lashing out at Bear after he makes an ill-judged joke. The trouble is, Bernice ends up soaking Mandy’s new potential client after she turns on the hose.

Realising that she’s messed up, Bernice storms off and subsequently finds support from Bob, who urges her to see a doctor regarding her recent behaviour. Gabby then accidentally plants the seed that Bernice is suffering with dementia, but Liam later reveals that Bernice is more likely to be going through the menopause.
