Yahoo News Emmerdale star reveals new fears for Victoria
Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has revealed that Victoria Barton will be terrified when rapist Lee Posner and his mum Wendy start harassing her next week.
Victoria is trying to rebuild her life after being raped by Lee, but the arrival of her attacker's mother will spark even more problems for her at such a difficult time.
Show bosses have already confirmed that former Casualty star Susan Cookson will be taking on the role of Wendy, who comes to the village and accuses Victoria of spreading "lies" about her son.
Things only get worse when Wendy pops up again and brings Lee with her. Both characters discover Victoria is pregnant when Diane Sugden accidentally lets the news slip.
Speaking about the next developments in the storyline, Isabel explained: "Victoria is shocked and scared when Wendy arrives. Wendy says they need to talk about all the 'lies' Victoria has been telling, so straight away Victoria knows that Wendy is an enemy.
"Wendy has got her son's interests at heart, which is exactly the opposite stance of Victoria's. She knows it's going to be difficult from the off.
"Charity comes to Victoria's defence, but Victoria is left feeling a little bit shellshocked. It was the last thing she was expecting. So even though Charity saves the day, Victoria crumbles. Charity is there to hold her, hug her and tell her everything is going to be okay."
On the drama ahead when Lee turns up next, Isabel continued: "It's the first time Victoria has seen Lee after the rape. She feels genuine fear that Lee and Wendy know where she lives and works, so they can show up whenever they want.
"Victoria wonders how and when it's going to end, because she's got absolutely no control. It's such a small village, so everybody is very easy to find.
"Victoria is fortunate because she has Aaron, Robert, Marlon and Charity to defend her. She's got people wherever she goes, but she shouldn't have to need them and it shouldn't be happening."
Isabel confirmed that Victoria will fear the worst once Wendy and Lee both know about the baby.
She said: "As far as Victoria is concerned, it's none of their business. She knows what the situation is – she's going to raise the baby on her own and she's more than happy with that.
"But are they going to bully her into getting a termination? Is Lee going to want to be involved – is he going to stake a claim over the baby? It's just opening a tin of worms that she does not want opened."
Emmerdale currently airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with extra episodes at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
