‘Emmerdale’ tonight: Will Sandra fool Liv as she steps up her con?
Liv Dingle (Isobel Steele) could be set to lose everything in tonight’s dramatic episode of Emmerdale, as her mother Sandra Flaherty’s (Joanne Mitchell) duplicity reaches new heights.
The ITV soap — which airs tonight at 7.30pm in an hour-long instalment — has already shown us just how far Sandra is willing to go in her plan to scam her daughter.
She has tried everything she can to tear Liv and her husband Vinny (Bradley Johnson) apart; and her latest scheme led to Mill Cottage being put on the market.
Earlier this week, Vinny and his mum Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) plotted to expose Sandra’s lies by using Jimmy King (Nick Miles) to pose as an interested buyer. Unfortunately, Sandra rumbled the trio, and Liv was so furious with Vinny that she threw him out of the house.

As Emmerdale continues, the young couple are miserable without each other. Mandy is saddened when Vinny rules out fighting for his marriage; while Sandra ‘comforts’ Liv as she works at The Hide, and makes a show of pointing out how difficult it is to stay away from alcohol.
Faced with temptation, recovering alcoholic Liv falls off the wagon as Sandra pretends to be upset over her daughter’s relapse. But inside, she is thrilled as a drunk Liv reveals too much about her growing savings account. Sandra plies Liv with more alcohol until she falls asleep; leaving Sandra primed to access Liv’s online bank account.

Will Sandra succeed in stealing all of the young woman’s money? Is there still time for Liv to realise just how cruel her mother is, or might Vinny and Mandy be able to save the day?
Of course, we can’t tell you that. But actor Steele recently teased that a big twist is just around the corner — and we can reveal that the star certainly delivers a powerful performance.
While we wait to find out what happens next, Steele has explained Liv’s mindset throughout this storyline.
“Because Liv’s so blinkered, it’s really upsetting that Vinny is taking the side of Mandy who’s always trying to stir the pot," Steele recently shared at a press event for the soap.
“It’s frustrating because [Liv has] obviously built these foundation blocks with family; and she’s really settled into the village, and she’s got people that really genuinely love her and look out for her. And it feels like she isn’t quite seeing that those people have her back; and it’s sort of been swept away by all of this.

“It’s frustrating to play, because obviously we discuss the scenes when we film them and it’s out of character for her to be so blind. But I think that comes with it being her mum, and that’s the one person that she can’t really see through.”
Tune in to Emmerdale tonight at 7.30pm on ITV to find out what’s in store for Liv.
