Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden has confirmed that Charley Webb is still ill during her pregnancy.

The couple are expecting their third child, but Charley (who plays Debbie Dingle) recently shared that she has been in "agony".

Appearing on Loose Women, Matthew (who plays David Metcalfe) said that Charley continues to be sick, and called the pregnancy "particularly brutal".

"This one has been particularly brutal," he said. "She's been ill from the get-go, and it's just not relented at all. She's been sick since we found out [she was pregnant], and she still is now."

Matthew added that he does not mind what sex the baby is, as long as they are healthy.

"Buster is 9, and then we've got Bowie who is 3," he said. "And then we've got one on the way.

"We don't know if it's a boy or a girl. Everyone goes, 'Oh, you would love a girl obviously because you've got two boys', but – it's the old cliche – as long as they're healthy."

Charley previously explained that in addition to getting "waves of sickness", she has been diagnosed with symphysis pubis dysfunction.

"It's when your muscles have relaxed too much, ready for the birth," she said.

Emmerdale currently airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with extra episodes at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
