TRAVELLERS have been spotted at an encampment near a school.

The encampment, consisting of caravans and the associated vans and vehicles, has been spotted off Blandford Close in Hamworthy, Poole on Monday morning, May 6.

It is also just round the corner from Cornerstone Academy and Hamworthy United football ground.

It’s not clear how long the encampment has been there for and it is understood police have been visiting the site, according to residents.

This is the second time an encampment has been spotted on the ground near Hamworthy football club.

On Thursday, April 11, the police were made aware of an unauthorised encampment behind the stadium.

Two units were found and BCP Council staff attended the site to carry out the statutory welfare and educational needs assessment.
