When selfies go wrong: Man attacked by squirrel after taking picture

When even squirrels go on the attack after a selfie, you know the trend must be dying out.

That's what this man found out when he attempted a picture with the furry-tailed rodent.

The photographer, who posted the selfie onto Reddit, got a picture with the squirrel, only for the furry creature to leap on his back seconds later.

The Reddit user, who wants to remain anonymous, told Yahoo: ‘I approached it making a clicking noise with my tongue'

‘When I got close enough, the squirrel actually tried grabbing my phone. I shook it off, then snapped this photo.’

However the squirrel wasn't going to let him get away with it, and proceeded to jump on his back.

‘Next thing I knew, the squirrel was on my shoulder, then under my shirt, and then hanging off my back!’ he said.
