'End of road' - Man City star Kevin De Bruyne opens up on thoughts about his future

Kevin De Bruyne said he still has plenty to offer after guiding Belgium to their first win of the European Championship.

Domencio Tedesco's side suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Slovakia in their first group game to put their chances of making the knockout stage at risk, but bounced back with a 2-0 win over Romania. De Bruyne put in a captain's performance and scored the second goal to remind everyone of his enduring class.

The 32-year-old faces an uncertain future with Manchester City, with one year left on his contract at the Etihad and interest from the Saudi Pro League that he has said he has to consider. Pep Guardiola would like him to stay, although the club do not stand in the way of stars who are determined to leave and able to bring a fair offer to the table.

With the World Cup two years away, there is also talk in Belgium of whether De Bruyne will be leading the team out at another major tournament or if this could be his last. The playmaker has not made a decision yet but believes he can still help his teammates as he aims to secure their place in the knockout rounds with a win over Ukraine on Wednesday.

"I haven't thought about this," he said. "I have been playing in the team for the past 10 years and I have knowledge to share with them but I haven't thought about if this is end of the road for me. It'll be up for the others to take over, but I don't like thinking about when I'm retiring or my future."
