England are through to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 after a dramatic comeback win over Slovakia..

The Three Lions were seconds from a humiliating exit in Gelsenkirchen, as another poor performance saw them enter the dying seconds of the match 1-0 down. But a stunning 95th minute equaliser from Jude Bellingham and a Harry Kane headed effort within the first minute of extra time saw England pull off a remarkable comeback.

Gareth Southgate's side - who entered the tournament as favourites - were underwhelming again, however, following up their dismal group stage performances which saw them narrowly beat Serbia before two dismal draws against Denmark and Slovenia.

They now have less than a week to up their game as they prepare for the quarter-finals. But who will they face and when and where are they playing? Here's everything you need to know.

Who will England play in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals?

After beating Slovakia, England will now face Switzerland in the quarter-finals.

Murat Yakin's Swiss side cruised into the last eight with an impressive performance against reigning champions Italy in the first knockout round. Goals from Remo Frueler and Ruben Vargas saw them beat the Azzurri 2-0 in Berlin on Saturday, having finished second in their group behind hosts Germany.

England's record against Switzerland is impressive, having lost just three of their 27 meetings in their history. Their last defeat at the hands of the Swiss came during a World Cup qualifier in 1981, when they lost 2-1 in Basel.

Their last encounter was a friendly match at Wembley in March 2022, with the Three Lions winning 2-1 courtesy of goals from Luke Shaw and Harry Kane.

When are the Euro 2024 quarter-finals?

The quarter-finals will be held on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 with two games played on each day.

England will play Switzerland at 5pm on Saturday (July 6), with the match to be held in Dusseldorf.

What if England make it to the semi-finals?

If they make it past Switzerland, England will find themselves in the semi-finals for the second successive European Championships.

Exactly who would await them there remains to be seen but we know it will be one of Austria, Romania, Netherlands or Turkey. The Three Lions have found themselves on the more favourable side of the draw but all four of those teams are capable of springing a surprise.

If they make it through to the final, England are likely to face one of Spain, Germany, Portugal or France.
