Erdogan Casts Vote in Istanbul for Presidential Runoff

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan casted his vote in Istanbul on Sunday, May 28, amid a presidential runoff election to decide whether the country’s longtime leader will stay in office.

Footage streamed by Erdogan’s AK Parti shows the president posting his ballot at Saffet Cebi Secondary School on Sunday.

Erdogan, who has been in power since 2003, faced opposition from Kemal Kilicdaroglu after neither politician received a majority in the country’s general election earlier this month, sparking a run-off race.
