Escape to the Country star breaks down in tears as she admits 'I'm knocked for six'

On BBC's Escape to the Country, house-hunter Susan was left in tears of joy when she saw her potential new home.

The show kicked off in the charming Nottinghamshire village of Coddington, near Newark-on-Trent, with presenter Jules Hudson showing off a busy local community including coffee mornings and a Women's Institute.

However, it was the 1840s detached cottage that rendered Susan speechless. The property even came with a guest wing for her best friend Lesley who exclaimed: "I'm bowled over. I'm knocked for six. I can't speak!"

The property flaunted en-suite bathrooms, a cosy reading room, and breathtaking fireplaces. Susan couldn't help but express her excitement, especially about the "fabulous" kitchen, saying: "You've given me everything I asked for."

As Jules led Susan around the "elegant" property, she had to pause before entering a spacious family bathroom where she could "big enough to dance in". Commenting on her emotional state, Susan expressed: "I'm choking up."

Jules agreed, observing that things had become rather emotional. In what would potentially be her master bedroom, Susan couldn't hold back the emotion any longer and said through tears: "You've just found such a wonderful house. I am going to cry", reports the Mirror.

Quickly consoling her, Jules reassured: "It's okay! It's okay, you don't have to..." Between the laughter and tears, Susan confessed: "I pull some funny faces when I cry!"

In a slightly agitated state, Jules announced, "Let's go downstairs. We'll gather our breath... and talk about the money."

Once they were out in the expansive garden, complete with double garages, Jules disclosed the actual cost of the cottage. Susan's guess was £340,000 for the abode yet she was overjoyed when Jules let slip that it was actually on sale for £330,000.

"You are joking! " she burst out. The price was exactly within her budget, and Susan was visibly overwhelmed by the revelation, breaking down into tears once more.

"Have a good old sob," Jules encouraged her. Susan was evidently conflicted, confessing, "I like the other one too! " to which he cautioned her, "You can only buy one!"

Lesley remarked, "What I was afraid would happen has happened, Susan has fallen in love with the house without thinking about the more practical aspects of it all. So we'll have to have a little chat later."

Yet, caught between two seemingly ideal properties, Susan found herself unable to make a definitive choice.
