Estes Park Choked by Smoke From Two Massive Colorado Wildfires

The Cameron Peak and East Troublesome fires burning in Colorado are now the two largest blazes in the state’s history, according to local reports.

The Cameron Peak fire, which began on August 13, has scorched more than 206,000 acres. The East Troublesome fire, which is burning to the southwest of the Cameron Peak fire, has engulfed more than 170,000 acres. While the Cameron Peak fire is 57 percent contained, the East Troublesome fire remains only 5 percent contained.

The combined area of the two fires is about 590 square miles.
