Eurovision 2024 Semi-Final 1 line-up, running order, list of songs and countries

The first Eurovision Song Contest 2024 semi-final gets underway on Tuesday night. Singers representing 15 nations will take to the stage hoping to to qualify for the weekend's grand final.

This year the contest is being held in Malmo, Sweden, after singer-songwriter Loren won the 2023 competition with her song Tattoo. Last year's contest was held in Liverpool on behalf of the previous year's winners Ukraine.

This year a change has been introduced to the semi-finals and the singers from the 'big five' (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom) and hosts Sweden - who automatically qualify for the final - will also perform.

The second semi-final, which will see 16 nations competing, takes place on Thursday night. The 10-highest-scoring countries in each semi-final after a public vote will qualify for Saturday's final alongside Sweden and the big five.

Christer Björkman, Eurovision Contest producer, said: "It's a very good year. It’s playful with high energy and very fun to work with. Above that, all participating countries have great ideas, which makes it extremely inspiring for us on the Contest team.

"In addition, we are so thrilled now that The Big Five and Sweden get to show themselves fully in the Semi-Finals. They are fully integrated into the shows which gives them the chance to grow into the Grand Final."

The first Eurovision 2024 sem-final will be live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8pm. The second semi-final takes place on Thursday and will also be live on the BBC at the same time.

The grand final takes place on Saturday, May 11, at 8pm.
