Eurovision 2024: What time song contest's grand final takes place and how to watch it on TV and online
It doesn't feel that long ago that Eurovision fever was building in the UK as the country hosted the epic European music competition for the first time in 25 years. Liverpool was chosen to represent Ukraine during the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 after the 2022 winners were unable to host the competition themselves.
This year's contest, which is taking place in Malmo after Swedish singer Loreen won the European singing competition last year with her song Tattoo.
While the UK didn't fair too well in the competition last year after Mae Muller gave it her all with her track, I Wrote a Song, Olly Alexander will be hoping for better luck this year with the Years and Years star being chosen to represent the UK with his track Dizzy, the first single he has written solo

Reflecting on this year’s competition the musician and star of hit drama It’s A Sin said: "I’ve listened to every artist’s song at this year’s Eurovision, there’s a lot of really great songs by some great artists. I think the competition is quite stiff."
The 68th run of Eurovision began on Tuesday evening (May 7) during the first semi-final, the first ten countries to join the "big five" - France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK - in the grand final were revealed after 15 countries battled it out for a place. A further 16 countries then took to the stage on Thursday night (May 9) as the final entries for the 2024 contest were confirmed.
The full list of countries taking part in the grand final and running order of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, as well as their acts and songs, are:

And with all the contestants now officially confirmed it is all about the grand final which takes place on Saturday, May 11, from 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. And once again, Eurovision and TV legend Graham Norton will be heard during the grand final live on the BBC while Malin Åkerman and Petra Mede host the show live from Sweden.
Multi-award winning actor, Joanna Lumley, will be joining the BBC Eurovision family as the United Kingdom’s Eurovision spokesperson, where she will deliver the results of the UK’s National Jury live during the grand final.
How to watch the Grand Final online
If you're using a phone, laptop, or tablet to watch the Eurovision grand final while it's being broadcasted, you have the option to stream it. Because the BBC is broadcasting the competition again this year, you can watch the final on BBC iPlayer. To do this, however, you will already need to have an account as well as a TV licence.
If you have the BBC Sounds app, you can also listen to Scott Mills and Rylan Clark as they will also once again be leading the commentary on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds live from Malmo.
