Eurovision fans say Olly Alexander 'sabotaged' in grand final as they spot issue

Eurovision fans were left fuming after a series of sound issues during Olly Alexander's final performance, with some even suggesting 'sabotage'. The singer took to the stage with his single 'Dizzy' halfway through the 25 performances on Saturday night.

Many fans suggested his performance had gone better than his previous semi-final attempt when he was criticised for weak vocals. However, viewers quickly picked up on the subpar sound quality.

At one point it looked like Olly might be having issues as he was seen adjusting his earpiece. One viewer commented: "Great staging, but terrible sound production. #Eurovision #UK".

Another added: "Hmm why is the sound different for #ollyalexander #uk ? ? ? #Eurovision2024 #eurovision," while a third chimed in with: "What is wrong with the sound suddenly #EUROVISION sabotage".

Commentator Graham Norton praised the performance as one of the best stage setups the UK has ever had.

This isn't the first time Olly has faced sound issues during a Eurovision performance. He suffered a technical 'disaster' midway through his Eurovision Song Contest semi-final performace on Tuesday night.

Speaking on Lorraine on Wednesday, Olly said: "I had a slight wardrobe malfunction and my mic pack fell off and I had to improvise, it's live tv and it happens!

"The dancing is a bit naughty and the team is fantastic. It's like the Olympics of music, it's a fun, chaotic circus."

He added: "This whole thing has been wild, it was amazing last night. It was the first time performing it on live TV. There is so much support from the other contestants, it's been the experience of a lifetime. I feel so lucky and privileged to be doing it."
