Evacuations Issued as Forest Fire Threatens Homes in Central Chile

Authorities in central Chile issued evacuation orders to residents in the Valparaiso region on Wednesday, March 13, as a forest fire continued to grow in the area.

The Chilean National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (SENAPRED) issued a red alert on Wednesday evening, asking residents from several sectors of the region to evacuate as multiple fire crews responded to the fire.
