Ex-Home and Away and Neighbours star Christie Hayes announces she's married

Former Home and Away and Neighbours star Christie Hayes has revealed she's married her partner Justin Coombes-Pearce.

The happy couple tied the knot on Wednesday, May 12, as they shared pictures of their wedding on Instagram.

"The One Where We Eloped," Christie captioned her post. "Happiest moment of my life marrying the love of my life. #OuiDeux #married"

Justin wrote: "The one where we eloped... Can't stop grinning after finally marrying my soulmate."

Christie previously told New Idea that Justin proposed to her on New Year's Eve of 2019.

"It was simple in its execution. It was a beautiful spot, there was champagne, cheese, and chocolate-covered strawberries. It was the most thoughtful and beautiful surprise," she recalled at the time.

Christie is known for playing Kirsty Sutherland in Home and Away between 2000 and 2009. In 2019, she featured in Neighbours as guest character Ebony Buttrose, the fiancée of Pierce Greyson.

"I was beyond excited and cried when I found out I had the role, because I love acting," she said of joining the Erinsborough soap.

"It is the best professional experience I have had in television, and I love waking up every day to play my character."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
