The Homebase branch at Camrbidge Retail Park is set to close later this year. The home goods shop will be closing on September 13, a company spokesperson confirmed.

The store has been covered with posters and banners that said "all stock reduced" and "everything must go". Other banners said "this location only".

Pension fund Railpen bought Cambridge Retail Park in 2023 for around £100million. The company plans to redevelop the area, including the adjacent Beehive shopping centre.

Railpen has launched a public consultation on plans for 230 Newmarket Road, near to Homebase, ahead of submitting a planning application for redevelopment. The 230 Newmarket Road site will be the next to come forward for redevelopment at Cambridge Retail Park after a new Starbucks is built later this year.

Developments at Cambridge Retail Park will see some shops staying in their current locations and others coming over from the Beehive. An outline planning application for the Beehive Centre was submitted in autumn 2023.
