Keep an eye on the sky this weekend as the spectacular Red Arrows will be flying over a number of Kent towns on their way to and from a hotly anticipated coastal display. Known for their impressive aerial stunts and routines, the aviation team will be the stars of the Folkestone Armed Forces and Community Fun Day on Sunday, June 30.

Set to be a day full of family fun around The Leas, the event will kick off at 10am with a military band parade marching through the town. A full itinerary of the event has recently been confirmed, with live music, dance routines, games and activities for all to enjoy, complete details of which can be found here.

At 1.30pm, the first aerial display of the day will stun the crowd as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight featuring two Spitfire planes takes to the skies. Guests will be able to watch these amazing aircraft in all their glory from a vantage on The Leas near the bandstand.

After more live music and entertainment, the second air display featuring the Jubilee Pitts is then scheduled for 4.30pm and will last for around 10 minutes. Rounding out the day of excitement, the Red Arrows will be the last team to perform, with a 22 minute display starting at 5.10pm.

This year marks the 13th Folkestone Armed Forces and Community Fun Day, with more than 50,000 guests expected to attend the popular annual event. Meanwhile, the Red Arrows are celebrating their 60th display in 2024, and will make a return to the Kent skies later this summer in July for the Headcorn Battle of Britain Airshow.

Folkestone Armed Forces and Community Fun Day is totally free to attend, and the party will continue later in the evening with a free evening concert at the Leas Cliff Hall between 6pm and 9.30pm, free tickets for which can be registered here.
