Fallout Adaptation From Westworld Creators Sets Amazon Release Date

The dystopian video game adaptation of Fallout is at last hitting screens next year and we finally have its release date: The popular franchise’s TV series will premiere Friday April 12, 2024, Prime Video announced Monday.

The role-playing game takes place in the 22nd century in the aftermath of a planet-wide nuclear war, where inhabitants of underground “vaults” must venture into a radioactive wasteland in order to procure items that will help save themselves and their neighbors. The TV series (which comes from Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy) will be an original story set in the Fallout universe that will also be considered part of the games’ canon.

The series’ cast includes Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Walton Goggins (The Righteous Gemstones), Aaron Moten (Next), Moisés Arias (The King of Staten Island), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Sarita Choudhury (And Just Like That…)Michael Emerson (Evil), Leslie Uggams (Empire), Frances Turner (New Amsterdam), Dave Register (F.B.I.), Zach Cherry (Severance), Johnny Pemberton (Superstore), Rodrigo Luzzi (Dead Ringers)Annabel O’Hagan (Law & Order: SVU) and Xelia Mendes-Jones (The Wheel of Time).

Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) and Graham Wagner (Silicon Valley) serve as executive producers, writers and co-showrunners. Nolan and Joy (Westworld) executive produce.
