A mother found dead alongside her three-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter at their home in west London was murdered, police have said.

The body of Monika Wlodarczyk's husband, Michal Wlodarczyk, was also found when police forced their way into the family home last Friday.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the four deaths.

On Monday it was revealed that Monika Wlodarczyk, 35, died from multiple sharp force injuries, according to a post-mortem examination carried out on Sunday.

She was found with her children Maja, 11, Dawid, three, and partner Michal, 39, at their home in Hounslow just after 3pm on Friday.

Mr Wlodarczyk died from sharp force injuries to the neck, the Metropolitan Police said.

Post-mortem examinations are due to be carried out on the children on Wednesday, and inquests into the deaths are due to open and adjourn on Tuesday.

Detective are not yet sure when the family died. The alarm was raised because Maja had not been to school since June 12, and the family had stopped replying to messages.

Officers forced their way into their property in Hounslow on Friday after concerns had been raised by worried friends and teachers.

Maja had hosted a sleepover for her birthday about three weeks ago. It was reported that she had not been seen at school for four days.

What is known about the family?

The family were Polish, according to neighbours, who said Mr Wlodarczyk worked as a builder, while Mrs Wlodarczyk was a cleaner at a hotel.

Friend Maria Gouveia, 37, said her daughter Sarah, who was in year six with Maja at nearby Southville Primary School, attended a sleepover party at the flat on 31 May – it was Maja's 11th birthday two days earlier.

Maria Gouveia, 37, said: “It’s tragic, her parents were really good people, hard workers, the mother was a cleaner in a hotel, I think the father was a builder.

“Maja was a lovely, beautiful girl, with a strong personality, but she had not been in school for a few days.

“People in her class were texting her, my daughter messaged her on Snapchat, it was not like her to go quiet.

“It’s shocking, the little boy was so sweet, he was going to start nursery in a few months, we are praying for them.”

Sarah said they played Just Dance and badminton in the garden with Maja's parents during the sleepover.

She also said that when she came back from trips to Poland, Maja would always bring back sweets and lollipops for her friends.

Sarah added: “She was really nice, she would always buy us stuff from the shops."

Sarah left a note for each member of the Wlodarczyk family beside some cuddly toys.

She wrote: “Dear Maja, I never knew you would be gone so soon. Who would’ve known such an intelligent beautiful loving girl would have already been gone.

“I just want you to know that you will never be forgotten, you will always be with us in our hearts.”

Another mother, Naura Hooper, 46, said she used to take Maja out with her daughters.

She said: “Maja was a nice girl, very intelligent and well-liked, the family were nice whenever I met them.”

On Sunday, it was reported that Maja had not been seen at school since last Monday.

A mother who lives nearby, who didn't want to be named, said: “I know the family, I was each day going to school, the daughter would go in front of me - my son is in the same school, same class.

“My son said that Monday she had gone to school and she went with him, Tuesday she didn’t come.

“Wednesday and Thursday she didn’t come, we had a course where people were outside of school but she didn’t come to school. She went only Monday."
