Family pay tribute to 'doting father' Robert following Ventnor Park death

AN ISLE of Wight family has paid tribute to a "beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and doting father" who died in Ventnor earlier this week.

On Wednesday, June 26, Ventnor Park, off Park Avenue, was sealed off by police following the death of a man.

Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were also in attendance.

Following the incident, his family have paid tribute to a man who will be “sorely missed”.

“It comes with great sadness, we are announcing the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and doting father, Robert Williamson,” wrote the family.

“His infectious, funny spirit will be sorely missed.

Earlier this week, his bereaved friends hit out at the police over their treatment of Robert's body.

Robert's distraught friends gathered nearby, out of a sense of wanting to "be with him" while the police waited for a private ambulance to arrive.
