The famous historic house of St Catherine's Court near Bath has been named one of the most-viewed homes of the month by British real-estate company Rightmove. The company is the UK's number one property website for properties on sale and to rent but also shares the latest news in property.

St Catherine's Court is a Grade I listed property in a secluded valley north of Bath, but it is famously known as the home of famous actress Jane Seymour and her then-husband, David Flynn, in the 1980s. Speaking to Architectural Digest in 1991, she revealed: "We had one day’s filming here, and by evening, David and I had fallen in love with the place."

The pair renovated the property but after her remarriage to film director James Keach, the property was then rented out as a film set and a recording studio. The more than 400-year-old stately English country manor has now hit the market for £12.5 million and has been listed as one of the most viewed homes this month.

Speaking on the manor, Rightmove shared: "Set within a hidden valley just outside Bath, this 11-bedroom, Grade I-listed home sits amid 14 acres of parkland. There are stunning views over the neighbouring gardens and meadows, with the gardens having Grade II-listed status, and a beautiful feature pergola.

"Find a labyrinth of staircases and corridors inside, revealing beautifully decorated rooms, with ornate wood carvings and detailed plasterwork."

The grounds with beautiful gardens were admired by famous 20th-century garden designer Gertrude Jekyll. The designer wrote of St. Catherine’s Court and said: "Many are the beautiful houses, but there is hardly one within its own borders, or, indeed, within the length and breadth of England, whose charm of ancient beauty and of lovely, restful pleasure-ground, can rival that of this delightful place."

Rightmove also listed the infamous Chesil Cliff House in Devon as another most-viewed home of the month. The house appeared on the property show Grand Designs in 2019 but was dubbed the "saddest episode" ever.

The incredible coastal mansion was designed to resemble a lighthouse and sits on 3 acres of grounds. The owner Edward Short lost his marriage and was left in £7 million of debt as a result of his doomed bid to convert Chesil Cliff House near Braunton.
