Host Jonathan Ross and DJ Sara Cox kick off the evening

Stars of screen, stage and catwalk put their wits to the test to raise an impressive £60,000 for Centrepoint, the youth homelessness charity, earlier this week.

Sara Cox, Christopher Biggins, Rufus Hound and Vanessa Feltz took part in the ‘Ultimate Pub Quiz’, hosted by Jonathan Ross.

They pitted their grey matter against teams of fundraisers over three rounds, as well as agreeing to go ‘under the hammer’ in an auction where they were ‘sold’ to the teams for a further fourth showbiz round.

The night raised a total of £60,000, which will go towards helping the 7,800 young people supported by the charity.

Jonathan Ross, who was hosting his third Ultimate Pub Quiz, said: “I’ve been lucky enough to meet some of the young people that Centrepoint have helped.

“These are vibrant, talented, hopeful, ambitious people who have fallen on hard times but are determined not to be victims of their circumstances.”

Richard Utting, Head of Events at Centrepoint, thanked the fundraisers and celebs for taking part, saying: “We’re incredibly grateful to the teams, celebrities and everyone who made this event possible.

“The support of so many people that come back year-on-year really makes a difference.

“Thanks to our supporters’ generosity, we can carry on working with young people to tackle their health problems, find a way back into work or education, and get the life skills necessary to leave homelessness behind.”
