Fantastic Beasts trailer: The Crimes of Grindelwald sees Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne take on Johnny Depp

The final trailer for long-awaited film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has finally landed, giving fans their last sneak peek at the magical movie ahead of its release.

Earlier this year, fans of the Harry Potter spin-off, based on a J.K Rowling screenplay, got a first glimpse at Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore.

Having escaped custody, Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald – played by Johnny Depp has a plan for domination of pure-blood wizards over all non-magical beings.

Dumbledore, wise to the plan, enlists the help of Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, to thwart his attempts.

But former student Scamander isn’t aware of the dangers that are waiting for him in the battle in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

The new teaser hints at Scamander’s uncertain future as he is handed keys to a safe house at the start of his mission, later suggesting that he has to “pick sides”.

The trailer also shows new characters including Newt’s brother Theseus Scamander, played by Callum Turner.

Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Claudia Kim, Dan Fogler and Zoe Kravitz also star in the film which is the second in the collection.

Earlier this year, Rowling hit back at online trolls on her Twitter account after it was revealed that the second film won’t “explicitly” mention the fact that Dumbledore is gay.

Fans were hoping that The Crimes of Grindelwald would reference the famed wizard’s homosexuality after Rowling herself explained how the Hogwarts headmaster had fallen in love with the dark wizard during his youth.

But Rowling’s tweet hinted that his relationships could be explored in later films.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will be released in cinemas on November 16.
