Fat Wolverine vs Deadpool? "Now you're talking!" says Hugh Jackman when Digital Spy sits down with him for an exclusive chat about his upcoming movie Logan.

The new Logan trailer arrived yesterday featuring an older, more broken Logan than we've ever seen before. But Hugh Jackman, who has played Wolverine in nine films including this one, was of course as charming and funny as always.

When we ask about Logan's decline in health and fitness, he laughs.

"Being in physical decline, there was no acting required, that was the easiest job I've ever had.

"I was like, great idea Jim, love that idea, let's go even further with that, I was thinking Copland Stallone, let's go there!"

Though he says director James Mangold wasn't sure how an overweight Wolverine would cope with the berserk action scenes...

Fat Wolverine, perhaps?

"You know what, if that's floated, maybe it'll bring me out of retirement."

Deadpool and Fat Wolverine, perhaps?

"Now you're talking!" laughs Jackman, before going on to explain that Ryan Reynolds has basically been trolling him to try to get him to be in Deadpool 2, including sending a tray of 12 cupcakes with Wolverine and Deadpool on them with little hearts.

You never know, it could happen...

Meanwhile, you can catch not-fat-but-slightly-tired Wolverine in Logan, heading to UK cinemas on March 1.

Director James Mangold exclusively broke down the trailer for us yesterday, talking us through scene by scene. He address Logan's physicality, saying:

"We find him in a state of extreme disrepair. He's sick. I think the movie will reveal how exactly he's ill, but the idea is that we find him in a state much like [an aged sports star or an astronaut].

"What is it like for a sports star or an astronaut when your knees start to give out and your elbows creak and it's harder to get out of bed and you have dizzy spells and you feel weaker and you're self-medicating with drugs or alcohol? This is kind of the reality he's living under, at this point in the movie."

This week is Logan week on Digital Spy. Check back every day for more exclusive interviews, clips and more.
