- English television and radio presenter
Fearne Cotton has said she is mourning the loss of her "best mate" after revealing her pet cat Lula has died.
The 40-year-old TV presenter revealed she adopted Lula along with her other cat Keloy from an animal rescue home in north-west London 20 years ago.
Cotton shared: "Yesterday I said goodbye to my best mate of twenty years. I’m heart broken and still in shock that she’s gone.
"I’m mostly just so grateful that I got twenty years with my darling Lula. She was the most loyal and loving creature ever.
"Twenty years ago I picked up Lula and Keloy from the @themayhew animal home and took them back to my then little cottage in Harrow. Since then we’ve moved all around the place and they’ve stuck by me through thick and thin."
The Celebrity Juice star went on: "Lula saw me at my best and worst and always without judgement. She brought unbelievable amounts of love into my life and for that I will be forever grateful. It feels like the end of an era as I literally can’t remember a time before she was in my world.
"Old bird, I will never forget you and the love you gave me. I hope you know how loved you were. You’ll always be in my heart."
Cotton rose to fame as a child presenter on CBBC and when on to become a DJ on BBC Radio 1 from 2005 to 2015.
She recently revealed she quit the radio show for the sake of her mental health, telling Red magazine: “I had to walk away because it was literally ruining my mind.
“A lot of people still believe in this myth that people on TV or social media are these perfect people with perfect lives, and, of course, it’s all a load of b*******.”
Cotton currently hosts wellbeing podcast Happy Place.
She is married to Jesse Wood - son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and is mum to son Rex, eight, and daughter Honey, five.
