Ferne McCann’s ex-boyfriend, Arthur Collins, has been found guilty of an acid attack in a London nightclub.

More than a dozen revellers were left with life-changing injuries following the attack in Mangle nightclub in Hackney, East London on 17 April.

Collins, 25, previously confessed to throwing the liquid but insisted that he did not know that it was acid, instead believing that it was a date-rape drug.

He has been found guilty of five counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, and nine counts of actual bodily harm against 14 people and will be sentenced on 19 December.

Collins was dating The Only Way Is Essex star Ferne McCann at the time of the attack, with the reality star immediately dissociating herself from him when news of his arrest broke.

Ferne gave birth to her and Collins’ daughter, Sunday, earlier this month, previously vowing to raise her child alone.

Last week the court heard how Collins’ “feared for Ferne’s career” following the acid attack, with his defence lawyer, George Carter-Stephenson saying that Collins ran from the police as he was “a young man in turmoil, in fear, not knowing what to do for the best.

“Not knowing what impact it’s going to have on his partner and her career, and all the other things that go with it.”

Meanwhile, Andre Phoenix, Collins’ co-defendant, has been cleared of all charges against him after he was seen on CCTV apparently holding Collins’ arms as he allegedly sprayed the liquid, with Phoenix telling the jury that he stepped in to separate Collins and another male during an altercation.

Phoneix was burned by the substance and was seen washing himself with a bottle of water in the CCTV footage, attending Whittington hospital in Archway, north London, for medical assistance the next day.

The 21 year old has been acquitted of four counts of grievous bodily harm and two of actual bodily harm at Wood Green crown court this afternoon.
