Festering Cattle Corpses at Flood-Devastated Queensland Farms Spark Health Fears

Mounds of festering cattle corpses in Julia Creek and Cloncurry have sparked health concerns in the north Queensland farming communities recovering from February’s flood emergency.

The North Queensland Register reported local councils and the defence force may be called up to dispose of the dead animals.

Monsoonal weather caused unprecedented flooding to parts of the state, resulting in huge stock losses, prompting the Queensland Government to issue a carcass disposal fact sheet for affected farmers.
