Along with honouring the best movies of the past year, Oscars weekend is also notable for honouring the worst stuff in cinemas too.

The Golden Raspberry awards – or Razzies – have announced their winners for this year, and it was a bad good night for Fifty Shades Freed and Holmes & Watson.

The Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson-starring sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey won Worst Screenplay, while Holmes & Watson was the big winner with four 'honours'.

The "shit" take (Steve Coogan's words, not ours) on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic detective won Worst Picture, Worst Director for Etan Cohen, Worst Supporting Actor for John C Reilly and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel. Ouch.

Melissa McCarthy took home Worst Actress for The Happytime Murders and Life of the Party – though it wasn’t all bad news as she also scored the Redeemer Award for Can You Ever Forgive Me?, a role that also earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination for on Sunday.

The Razzies also gave multiple awards to US president Donald Trump, including Worst Actor as himself in documentaries Death of a Nation and Fahrenheit 11/9, as well as Worst Screen Combo for those two movies and "his self-perpetuating pettiness".
