Fire Breaks Out on Roof of Tower Block in Staines

A large plume of smoke was seen rising over Staines on Wednesday, June 26, after a fire broke out on the roof of a tower block.

Footage by X user @samuel_cooling shows the smoke rising from the roof of a new development of flats.

“Crews remain at the scene tackling the fire. Please can you avoid the area if possible and we ask residents to keep their windows shut,” the local fire service said.

The fire service said the site was a former car park.
