Fire in Hassleholm Disrupts Train Service in Sweden and Denmark

A fire that engulfed an industrial building near a railroad line in Hassleholm, Sweden, on August 14 caused “major disruptions” to passenger trains, as service was halted to clear the way for emergency vehicles, local media reported.

The shutdown affected thousands of people trying to travel between Stockholm and Copenhagen, the report said.

Citing officials, local media reported that travelers could experience “major delays for the rest of the day.”

Police also said a nearby gym was evacuated.
