Fire Tears Through Leisure Centre in Salford

A fire tore through a leisure centre in Salford, Greater Manchester, early on Friday, May 10.

Footage by X user @pixels_neen shows the blaze and firefighters at the scene.

The Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service said crews arrived at the scene at around 2:45 am and were able to bring the fire under control. Images from the fire service showed the Clarendon Leisure Centre badly damaged.

A spokesman said road closures remained in place in the early morning.
