Firefighters Rescue Villagers Trapped by Heavy Flooding in China's Jiangxi Province

Firefighters rescued villagers trapped by flooding in China’s Jiangxi Province on July 15 as a reported six million people were affected by high waters across the province.

Around 654,000 people in Jiangxi have been relocated as a result of the floods, according to reports, as the Yangtze River rose above warning levels.

Severe flooding had affected several of China’s provinces in the preceding days, including in Anhui and Guangxi. Flood warnings were also issued in the central city of Wuhan as the Yangtze river rose and flooded riverside areas. Credit: Jiangxi Fire via Storyful
