The UK's first ever 'all-season indoor beach' has been revealed as part of a £250million waterpark in Manchester.

More images have been released of plans for the huge Therme Manchester indoor resort and spa, expected to be built in TraffordCity.

Costing £250m, the park, spa and wellness centre pledges to be an “urban oasis” across a 28-acre site, featuring 25 pools and 35 slides.

It was originally supposed to open in 2023, but has since been pushed back to 2025.

The "urban beach" will be a part of Therme's "next generation waterpark" aimed at creating "an integrated experience to benefit physical and mental health", Therme's bosses said.

Other new features included immersive digital art features and an on-site urban farm and botanical gardens.

It will be double the size of Therme’s wellness centre in Bucharest, Romania, which opened in 2016 and had more than 1 million visitors in its first year.

The site in Manchester will include more than 1,500 palm trees, 25 indoor and outdoor swimming pools, at least 35 water slides and 30 saunas and steam rooms, the Manchester Evening News reported.

The park will also have a dedicated adults’ area with warm water lagoons, swim-up bars and therapeutic mineral pools.

Fitness classes, yoga and Pilates will also be available to customers.

The vast 'urban oasis' will be the UK's first city-based wellbeing resort and will sprawl across a huge 28-acre site next to the shopping mall at Barton Square in Manchester. (Reach)
