Bedworth town centre is to host its first ever bear hunt for families to take part in. More than 20 teddy bears will be hidden in shop windows around the town.

The bear hunt starts on what is a special day for the town - Friday, May 24, which is officially Founder’s Day, known locally as 'Bun Day' at Bedworth Almshouses. It will run until Saturday, June 1.

Organisers at The Bedworth Society say that anyone can take part in the bear hunt and search for the cuddly clues. "It is free to enter, and we are keen to encourage families to come and have a walk around Bedworth town centre and see the range of shops we have available," said a spokesperson.

"It is the first one we have held and we hope that people will enjoy taking part in it." Entry forms will be available from the Bedworth Heritage Centre, or can be downloaded from the Bedworth Society website.

On the form, people need to enter the number on the bear’s bib against each participating shop. Once completed, the forms can be put into special post boxes at Bedworth Heritage Centre, or Spencer’s Interiors store.

There will be winners drawn at random with prizes donated by local companies. The Bedworth Heritage Centre is open on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 10.30am until 1pm.
