There's a new look for the Sainsbury's Cobham Superstore - and here's your chance to sneak a peek. Sainsbury’s longtime loyal customer and friend of the store Roy Bones joined colleagues to cut the ribbon as the local community got to check out the upgraded flagship supermarket for the first time today (Friday).

Over the past few months, colleagues in Sainsbury’s Cobham have been working hard to give the store a whole new look. The supermarket has been reimagined to offer what it has called "state-of-the-art format design".

In a statement, Sainsbury's said: "Customers in Cobham told Sainsbury’s that they were looking for more creativity and excitement when shopping. The retailer recognised the opportunity to do more to inspire and delight them with a new format that celebrates its much loved Argos, Habitat and Tu Clothing brands alongside its signature tasty, great quality and innovative food."

New features in the store include:

  • Front-and-centre Habitat and Tu Clothing showcases designed to display the latest seasonal and lifestyle trends

  • A completely revamped Argos store inside the supermarket

  • A brand new fresh food and produce hall

  • New and refreshed ranges with even more of the products customers love

  • Renewed signage, furnishings and floors throughout the store to help bring products to life

  • An improved checkout area

Customers can also pop into a brand-new Costa Coffee branch inside the store or the new Greggs shop located in the petrol station. Sainsbury’s has installed upgraded technology in and around the supermarket.

This includes new digital signage and displays, designed to help customers feel more inspired while making the store easier to navigate, all supported by Sainsbury’s helpful, knowledgeable colleagues across the shop floor. As part of Sainsbury’s commitment to become Net Zero in its own operations by 2035, the retailer has also invested in the installation of more energy-efficient refrigeration and heating systems to make the store more sustainable.

Ben Taw, Sainsbury’s Cobham Store Manager, said: “It’s been absolutely fantastic to fully reopen our new-look supermarket for customers in Cobham today. I’d like to thank my colleagues, our supplier partners and everyone in the wider community for all your support and patience in getting us to this stage.

“We’re really excited to show off our refreshed store and to keep doing more to help our customers in Cobham feel inspired, whatever they are looking for when they shop with us.”
