An incredible young woman will imminently open her own fine jewellery store and workshop space in Pangbourne, much to the delight of residents.

Nicola Bannister, 28, is a trained goldsmith and jeweller who plans to turn an old jewellery repair shop into a new remodelling studio and store. She is only open for appointment repairs at the moment.

"I want people to bring in gold and diamonds from their granny to make something completely new," she said.

"I also am going to be making my own pieces in the shop to sell. Stuff like rings, bracelets, necklaces, all that kind of stuff."

Ms Bannister also said that as her new store has an upstairs area she's also planning on hosting ring-making classes where attendees can create their own jewellery.

She already runs a wedding ring making workshop that has proven to be hugely popular with customers, allowing couples a chance to create their own bespoke wedding bands.

"They learn how to be goldsmiths for the day and make their own wedding rings," she said.

"It's really special. I'm also going to offer silver and goldsmithing workshops, so there's like a lot that is going to be going on. It's a little creative hub I'm trying to create."

The shop will currently only have Ms Bannister working at it, and this will be her first proper business venture of this kind.

The shop will open it's doors for the first time in September, and is situated on 29 Reading Road, Pangbourne, RG8 7HY.
