First picture of 'much loved husband and father' killed in horror crash in Fife

A dad who died after a horror car crash in Fife has been named by police.

Emergency crews were called to the fatal collision near the junction at Clocklunie Road on the B981, between Crossgates and Inverkeithing at 6.10pm on Wednesday, June 19. The driver of a silver Volkswagen Golf involved was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment but died a short time later.

He has been named by police as 52-year-old Paul MacKenzie from Inverkeithing. In a statement released by his family, he has been remembered as a "much loved husband, father, brother and son".

The statement, issued through Police Scotland, reads: "We are heartbroken by the loss of a much loved husband, father, brother and son. He will be missed always."

Officers investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash say inquiries are ongoing. They have appealed to any witnesses - particularly those with dash-cam footage - to come forward.

Sergeant Lee Walkingshaw said: "We continue to support Paul's family at this difficult time and our investigation into the crash is ongoing. We would like to thank those witnesses who have spoken with officers already and continue to appeal for anyone with information or dashcam footage which may be able to assist our investigation to get in touch."
