Our delightful first look at Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs is here.

Set in Japan 20 years in the future, Anderson's second animated movie – after Roald Dahl adaptation Fantastic Mr Fox – follows a boy's odyssey in search of his dog.

And, as expected, it's typically quirky and not your average animation.

The new trailer also sets out the concept of the movie, which takes place after all the dogs of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island.

Twelve-year-old Atari Kobayashi, ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi, sets off alone to the island in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots, and with the assistance of his new friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide their fate and future.

Isle of Dogs has a quite ridiculous voice cast, including the likes of Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson and Edward Norton as a dog called Rex.

But that's not even close to them all.

Deep breath now: Bob Balaban, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Greta Gerwig, Jeff Goldblum, F Murray Abraham, Harvey Keitel, Akira Ito, Akira Takayama, Koyu Rankin, Courtney B Vance and Liev Schreiber.

Oh, and Yoko Ono for good measure.

The incredible cast was unveiled by the Grand Budapest Hotel director last year, including a very brief sneak preview of Norton's Rex.

Isle of Dogs is released in US cinemas on March 23, 2018 and UK cinemas on March 30, 2018.
