Five-day election filing opens for Fair Board

Jan. 10—Rogers County citizens will have their first opportunity to participate in the 2024 county election process when filing begins Monday, Jan. 22, 8 a.m. for County Fair Board seats.

The filing period last five days, through Friday, Jan. 26; the election is Saturday, Feb. 17. Forms are available from the County Clerk's office, first floor, Rogers County Courthouse.

The full Fair Board is composed of nine members, representing all three county districts. Not all seats are open for this election.

Filing forms are available and must be submitted at the County Clerk's office on the first floor of the Rogers County Courthouse, 200 S. Lynn Riggs Blvd., Claremore.

The deadline to file is Friday, Jan. 26, 5 p.m.

County Resolution 2024-115, adopted Jan. 2, states: "Only registered voters of Rogers County shall be eligible to file as a candidate" and that "any person filing must reside in the Commissioners' District or City they seek to represent."

On the election date, voters in each district must be inside the designated district location no later than 10 a.m. Voting will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m.

County Commission Chairman Dan DeLozier said the doors are locked at exactly 10 a.m. and no additional voters will be allowed inside the voting room.

Voting locations within each district are:

—District 1 — County Warehouse, Chelsea, 6105 Industrial Drive.

—District 2 — County Warehouse, Oologah, one-mile west of Intersection of Highway 88 and Highway 169.

—District 3 — County Warehouse, Claremore, 2425 South Warehouse Road.

Current Fair Board members include President Lyle Blakley, Vice President Susan Gebhart, Secretary Tony Carlson, Treasurer Clark Stout and members Kari Jinkens, Jim Bob Lynch, Duane Stout, David Steward and Kim Allen.
