Five EURO 2024 bargains Leeds United could target to save them millions in the transfer window

EURO 2024's group stage has come to an end and we now know the 16 teams who will battle it out in the knockout rounds in order to be crowned the European champions.

None of the major sides have fallen at the group stage hurdle while there have been a number of surprise packages like Austria, Romania and Georgia who have punched above their weight to seal their place in the next round.

As always in major international tournaments, a number of lesser well known names have taken their opportunity to impress on the big stage and put themselves in the shop window.

Leeds United are on the lookout for new recruits as they look to navigate themselves towards promotion to the Premier League this season.

Daniel Farke's men fell at the final hurdle last season, losing to Southampton in the Championship play-off final, and will be looking towards finding the talent that will see them go one better this term.

As such, Leeds Live have taken a look at five possible bargain transfers the Whites could make from those players who have impressed during the group stages of EURO 2024.

Kwadwo Duah

The Switzerland forward plies his trade in Bulgaria and has led a nomadic career up to this point. He was a shock call-up to the Swiss squad for EURO 2024 but justified Murat Yakin's faith with a goal in their win over Hungary in their opening game.

The 27-year-old, who was born in London, scored 15 times for Ludogorets last season and is valued at as little as €3million. He could be a low risk, high gain transfer for any Championship club.

Razvan Marin

Leeds could be in the market for a midfielder this summer, should Ilia Gruev depart the club amid interest from Borussia Dortmund, and a move for Romania's Razvan Marin could fill that void.

The 28-year-old has scored twice in the competition to help Romania surprisingly finish top of Group E but faces an uncertain future at club level.

Marin spent last season on loan at Empoli and returns to Cagliari with just one year remaining on his contract. He could be available for a cut price fee, amid interest from Red Star Belgrade, and Leeds could take advantage of that uncertainty by making a move for the former Ajax and Standard Liege midfielder.

Ivan Schranz

Leeds could well lose a winger in this summer's transfer market, with Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto linked with moves away, and a move for €2million-rated Ivan Schranz could offer them a cut-price alternative.

Schranz, who plays for Slavia Prague, has scored twice in EURO 2024 to help Slovakia reach the last 16 and scored eight goals at club level, too.

Giorgi Kochorashvili

Kochorashvili has been one of the best performers in a Georgia side who have stunned Portugal in a 2-0 win to reach the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time.

The 24-year-old's energy in midfield has helped to drive his team on and he is valued at a mere €1million. He currently plays for Spanish second tier side Levante and would represent an attractive deal for any high end Championship club this summer.

Andrei Ratiu

Ratiu was named in WhoScored.com's Team of the round on matchday three and the Romanian right-back could well be the answer to Leeds' search in that position.

The Whites had been linked with a move for West Ham United's Ben Johnson, but he now looks set to join Premier League side Ipswich Town on a free transfer instead.

A such, Leeds' pursuit of a right-back that would free Archie Gray to play in his natural position of central midfielder could see them turn to the Romanian international.

The 26-year-old is valued at €1.4million and plays for a Rayo Vallecano side that narrowly avoided relegation from La Liga last season.
