'Flames and tears': How world's newspapers reacted to Notre Dame fire

Parisians and the world looked on in horror as one of the main symbols of France was consumed by fire yesterday.

Many people have stepped forward to offer money to rebuild the cathedral, including François-Henri Pinault, who has pledged €100m (£86.3m, $113m).

Soon after, French billionaire Bernard Arnault and his luxury goods group LVMH promised €200m (£172.7, $225.9) towards the reconstruction.
