Fleur East has said she had a "comforting" good luck message from her late dad ahead of her Strictly Come Dancing debut.

The singer said that a psychic medium gave the message from her late father Malcolm – who died two years ago – to her cousin.

According to reports she opened up on her Hits Radio show, telling listeners: "On Sunday I had a message from one of my cousins who had been to see a medium – people that speak to the spirit world.

"I've never gone to a medium because I do believe in it and I'm quite scared about going because I never wanted to test it. But my cousin went and this happened."

She went on: "So my Dad passed away in 2020, his name was Malcolm and apparently he came through and wished me good luck ahead of Strictly."

East played a message from her cousin where the psychic said they were in contact with someone from the other side called Malcolm who had a daughter who was a performer.

They said the daughter was "about to start an adventure", adding: "He says to tell her I'm so proud of her and give her all the luck in the world."
