Floodwaters Swamp Streets in Northern California

Floodwaters swamped Maxwell, north of Sacramento, California, on Saturday, February 18. Around 100 residents were evacuated, local media reported.

A severe storm, dubbed one of the strongest to hit the region in years, also brought torrential rain, flooding and strong winds to southern California. At least five people were killed, roads and highways were flooded and power lines were downed, leaving tens of thousands of people in Los Angeles without power, NBC reported.
