Florida Cops Rescue Sea Turtle Stuck in Rocks

A sea turtle was rescued by Florida police and firefighters after getting wedged in some rocks at a Marineland beach on Monday, June 10.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said they received a report of a turtle in distress and found the “very large” sea turtle trapped in some coquina rocks on the beach, unable to return to the ocean.

The police department said they joined forces with a local turtle patrol and the Flagler County Fire Rescue to dislodge the animal and carry it to the surf, “where it swam off into the sunrise.”

Footage released by the sheriff’s office shows a number of emergency workers lifting the huge turtle to return it to the water. Credit: Flagler County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
