Foleshill Community Centre confirms huge building change

Foleshill Community Centre has revealed a huge change to its building. The centre has been at the heart of the community for years.

It is the home of the city's first social supermarket as well as arts and sports sessions. Now it wants to make changes to make it easier for people to access the building.

It has applied to the city council for permission to demolish and refurbish the rear entrance. It also wants to provide better disabled access to the sports hall as well as making associated external and internal alternations.

In the planning application it explains: "Demolition and refurbishment of rear entrance lobby.

"Improved disabled access to the sports hall. New dry goods store and viewing area. Additional internal alterations to facilitate the works."

The application explains that there will new a disabled parking space within the car park. It is now being looked at the proposals for the Foleshill Road-based centre.

As part of this, the plan can be viewed on the council's website, under the planning applications section, searching for PL/2024/0000819/FUL. The final decision will be made by 'delegated decision' by July 17.
