Fordingbridge's high street has now partially reopened, as phase four of the roadworks are now underway.

The road has been affected since Monday, June 10 when three way traffic signals during the daytime were used while kerb replacement works took place.

Since Thursday, June 13, a 24 hour continuous road closure has been in place. That road closure will now only be in place overnight.

Community refill shop The Green Gram said: "There's been a lot of frustration with the lack of information about the progress of the roadworks.

In a Facebook post, The Green Gram said: "Never thought we'd be so excited to see traffic!!! The High Street is open during the day, hurrah!" (Image: The Green Gram)

"However, it should make a big difference to the High Street once the work is completed."

Many other businesses on Fordingbridge High Street were concerned about the impact of the road closure, and the Journal spoke to All The Cool Stuff, Gourmet Grocer, Carl Hillwood hair and beauty and Avon Valley Community Matters.
