Yahoo News Former Corrie star Christopher Quinten engaged to girlfriend 40 years younger
Former Coronation Street star Christopher Quinten is engaged to girlfriend Robyn Delabarre, who is 40 years his junior.
The Brian Tilsley actor, 61, got down on one knee and proposed to Robyn during her 21st birthday celebrations.
In footage of the moment (via The Sun), Christopher pops the question, asking: "Robyn, will you marry me?" – much to her shock.
She then answers yes as everyone gathered cheers.
Robyn later said: "My husband to be! It's been a crazy seven months – a secret we had to keep because of our jobs – but you have made me the happiest girl alive.
"You're amazing to me. I'm so lucky to have you in my life. I'm so glad you're mine, I love you and I couldn't care less what anyone has to say. I love you with all my heart. Thank you for doing everything you do for me, Chris."
Christopher played Gail Platt's husband Brian on the soap from 1978 until 1989, where he was killed off in a brutal stabbing.
The actor was previously married to talk show host Leeza Gibbons, though they divorced in 1989 after two years of marriage.
