Cheltenham Town have completed the signing of goalkeeper Owen Evans following his departure from Walsall this summer.

The 27-year-old returns to the Robins, having spent half a season on loan from Wigan Athletic in 2019/20 before one year as a permanent signing at Whaddon Road in 2021/22.

Evans becomes Michael Flynn's seventh new signing of the summer.

He is likely to be Cheltenham's number one for the 2024/25 League Two campaign, with Wednesday's other new arrival Joe Day acting as understudy and goalkeeping coach.

Max Harris has been made available for transfer after four years with the club.

The Robins begin their pre-season programme at Bishop's Cleeve on Friday evening.

* Cheltenham Town's League Two match at newly-promoted Chesterfield will be broadcast live on Sky Sports+ and will now kick-off at 12:30PM on Saturday, September 21.
